In my graduation work "Happy Valley” I investigate what life looks like after death and the process of reancarnation. The work is inspired by people who once have experienced a near death experience. During these near death experiences I find it interesting what people see, experience and follow. I have translated these near death stories into a "flower garden" and the cycles of life of this flowergarden as a methaphor of life, death and rebirth. It is a place of transition where we “can” blindly follow our journey to the right seed, which will later be revealed as a new chapter in life.
The work is an installation, within this installation a flower garden and a bug-zapper, representing a place where we can question ourselves the feeling of home and the unknown.
